Introducing the Ending Violence Against Women NOW Campaign: Standing Up for Safety and Justice in 2025
In a world where violence against women remains a pervasive issue, the Austin Chapter of the National Organization for Women (Austin NOW) is launching the Ending Violence Against Women Campaign for 2025. Our goal is to prevent violence, support survivors, and advocate for comprehensive protections. Through a combination of legislative advocacy, public education, and coalition-building, we are committed to taking bold action against domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
Our Mission: A Safer Future for All Women
The Ending Violence Against Women Campaign aims to address and dismantle the systemic barriers that perpetuate violence. We believe that by raising awareness, advocating for stronger laws, and providing tangible support, we can create a safer environment for women and girls everywhere.
Key Goals of the Campaign:
Raise Public Awareness:
We will launch an extensive public education initiative to highlight the prevalence, impact, and realities of violence against women. Through social media campaigns, infographics, and community events, we aim to bring attention to domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
Advocate for Stronger Legal Protections:
We will push for comprehensive legislation that enhances protections for survivors, holds perpetrators accountable, and ensures justice is accessible to all. Our advocacy efforts will include lobbying for expanded legal definitions, increased funding for survivor services, and stricter penalties for offenders.
Support Survivors and Strengthen Resources:
In partnership with local shelters, crisis centers, and survivor support organizations, we will help provide vital resources, including safe housing, legal aid, and mental health services. Our commitment is to ensure that every survivor has access to the support they need to rebuild their lives.
Organize Community Events:
We will host a series of events, including vigils, awareness walks, and educational workshops. These gatherings will not only honor survivors but also foster community solidarity and encourage proactive engagement in preventing violence against women.
Track and Report on Campaign Impact:
To ensure transparency and accountability, we will maintain comprehensive records of our advocacy efforts, community outreach, and policy changes. Regular reports will keep our members and partners informed of our progress and guide future actions.

2025 Program Timeline: Building Momentum Throughout the Year
We’ve designed a timeline to guide our efforts and ensure we stay focused on achieving real change:
Quarter 1 (January – March):
Kick off the campaign with a social media series focused on raising awareness about violence against women. Host an educational webinar featuring experts on domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
Quarter 2 (April – June):
Organize a rally during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, advocating for stronger protections and increased funding for survivor services. Launch a letter-writing campaign to local legislators urging immediate action on key policy proposals.
Quarter 3 (July – September):
Partner with local shelters and advocacy organizations to provide direct support for survivors. Host a community fundraiser to increase resources for crisis intervention and survivor services.
Quarter 4 (October – December):
Compile a comprehensive report on the campaign’s progress, including legislative wins, community outreach successes, and feedback from partners. Host a year-end event to celebrate our achievements, honor survivors, and strategize for the upcoming year.
Expected Outcomes: A Year of Progress and Change
By the end of 2025, we aim to achieve the following outcomes:
Greater Public Awareness: Increased understanding of the prevalence and impact of violence against women, leading to a more informed and active community.
Enhanced Legal Protections: Legislative advancements that provide stronger protections for survivors and stricter consequences for offenders.
Expanded Support for Survivors: Improved access to vital resources, including safe housing, mental health services, and legal assistance.
