The Austin chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW) is dedicated to advancing gender justice and equality for all women, including in the areas of reproductive rights, economic justice, racial justice, and LGBTQIA+ rights. Our efforts include grassroots advocacy, community outreach, and strategic organizing to push for equitable policy change.

As part of our ongoing work to advocate for the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), we are looking for a Data and Reporting Officer to help maintain and track our progress toward our goals.

Position Overview

The ERA Volunteer Data and Reporting Officer will play a critical role in supporting the ERA Committee by maintaining accurate records, tracking project progress, and preparing monthly reports for the Committee Lead. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about gender equality, data management, and creating actionable insights to drive change.

Location: Austin, TX (Remote options available)

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain Records: Keep accurate and up-to-date records of ERA-related activities, including petitions, letters, outreach efforts, and event participation.

  • Track Progress: Monitor the status of ongoing campaigns and initiatives related to the ERA, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.

  • Prepare Monthly Reports: Compile and present monthly reports to the ERA Committee Lead that summarize key activities, progress, challenges, and outcomes.

  • Data Management: Input and organize data related to outreach efforts, including engagement metrics from petitions, social media campaigns, and public events.

  • Assist in Strategy Adjustments: Provide insights and data-driven recommendations to the Committee Lead to help adjust strategies and improve impact.

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Experience with data entry, record-keeping, or project tracking.

  • Proficiency in Google Drive (Docs, Sheets) and/or familiarity with project management tools like Trello, Asana, or ClickUp is a plus.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Passion for gender equality and the successful passage of the Equal Rights Amendment.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote, volunteer capacity.

  • Experience in nonprofit or grassroots organizing is preferred but not required.

Commitment

  • Time Commitment: Approx. 5-8 hours per week.

  • Duration: Minimum 6-month commitment.

  • Location: Remote work is available, though some in-person meetings may be required in Austin, TX.
